A unique feature to The Secretary is the ability to group images and text within each project, essentially allowing you to layout each of your projects. Groups, textblocks and files can be rearranged through drag and drop.

Groups

Each group is assigned a display type, which determines how the images (and audio or video) is displayed. There are three default types:

  • One by one

Displays each file one after the other, without any special formatting

  • Slideshow

Displays the group as a slideshow, with next and previous buttons (uses the jQuery Cycle plugin)

  • Pop

Displays the thumbnails of each file, which can be clicked to “pop” them up to the full size image. Great for larger collections of images shown in a grid format.

Textblocks

Textblocks let you intersperse your images with text that can be used to describe the project and provide any useful information. They can contain HTML and so therefore can also be used to include external media, such as YouTube or Vimeo videos, by pasting an embed code in the textblock.

File Captions

Note that each file added to a project can also be given a title and caption (which can also contain HTML) - in the project edit screen, rolling your mouse over a thumbnail reveals an “Edit” button; this button contains a submenu, with the option to “Edit details”.
