In the 'site' folder of your Secretary installation is a file called htaccess.txt. Move this file to the location of your website and rename it to '.htaccess'. Next, go to the Settings panel (Dashboard - Site Settings & Preferences) and check the 'Clean URLs' box under the Site Settings heading. Click save.
